3 letters of rec or 2?

I already have 2 good LOR from past professors
Is it worth it to get a 3rd from the job I've had for the past 3 months since graduating or does it not add much? I think it'll be a decent to good LOR from my boss.

Almost certainly won't matter one way or the other. If schools are only asking for 2 though that's all I'd give them.

I think the general consensus is give only the number they require (so if they require two, only give two), and academic LORs seemed to be preferred (unless you've been out of school for a significant amount of time), but I did two academic and one from a supervisor and it didn't hurt me. So probably won't matter either way.

yeah, just stick to 2 letters unless you need and additional LOR for a certain scholly or something.

So if they say 2 is minimum, but 4 is maximum.... give the minimum or maximum?

Depends. If you're k-JD just give the min. But if you served in the army before college and won a silver star for valor and then went to school and then became an astrophysicist and invented faster than light travel it probably makes sense to send 3 or 4.
Basically, you shouldn't be going over the minimum unless you're 100% certain that the letters add something unique and positive to your application.
