Master's Degree??

Greetings and salutations,

Is a Master's degree worth the effort? I majored in history (3.7ish) and take the LSAT in Sept (got a 157 in February and hope to improve this time around), but think getting a Master's in something like Econ or Accounting could be useful, to at least have some familiarity with working with economics and numbers and stuff. Then again, I majored in History, so I'm not sure if I have the prerequisites for those kinds of programs. Is pursing such a program a fool's gambit or will law schools (and future employers) prefer my application to candidates without a Master's?

Thanks a ton!

a masters certainly wont hurt your application, but it wont help you get in. Get that lsat score up.

Get a graduate degree if you're actually interested in pursuing an advanced degree in that field. Don't get one because you think it will be better for law school.

I think it would be *very* hard for a history major to get into a decent master's in econ, unless you've done a lot of econ coursework maybe. And no, not worth it - it won't add to your application.
