Don't think anyone has posted this yet, so here it is. ATL says their rankings are the only ones that incorporate the latest ABA employment data concerning the class of 2016.

Why do we keep posting these rankings? I'm sure there are other ranking systems out there looking for a few clicks because they don't rank Yale as the top school. Can't we give those poor sites some much needed traffic?

UChicago on fire in every field of damn study. A damn rocketship. No way they don't get into #1 territory in multiple disciplines in 10 years.

Wrong. UChicago managed to trickle up a spot this year, but its stay at the top will be a short one. There is a school with massive momentum here, but it's not UChicago: it's Duke. The Duke University School of Law is set for a dominant run. LOL @ folks who chose Columbia, Berkeley and NYU over Duke at equal cost. Talk about buying high and selling low.

This list just confirms what we always knew: NYU and Chicago are trash and Iowa is stealthily a TOP LAW SCHOOL.
Modz plz

This was inevitable. The Penn bubble has been ready to burst for awhile. Frankly, I'm surprised that Penn only dropped three spots. It'll take two or three more years for it to settle down to the UT/NYU/BC layer. I know there are folks out there who believe that Penn will fall lower than that, but I think they're unduly pessimistic. Penn's ivy-league status ensures it will always be at least a solid T20.

Could you elaborate on this? Penn seems to always have good employment #s.

Guys, I just saw this ranking, how do I withdraw from Columbia and beg Duke to let me back in? I have obviously made a horrible mistake.

The bolded is the key here. But Penn's little pyramid scheme is slowly getting exposed.

Pyramid scheme? Mind explaining in more detail. I'm a 0L at Penn so you've got me freaked out.

Penn's precipitous decline in the ATL rankings speaks for itself. Let's face it: these rankings are scary. No need to sugarcoat things.

You're fine, don't worry about it. These rankings (and rankings in general) are dumb.
Penn always has excellent employment stats.

Obviously lots of posts in here are sarcasm lol.
Making a big deal out of every rank is stupid but in ranges it is not bad information to have as long as it's not all you're relying on. I mean in general HYS does better than the bottom of the t14, which does better than schools further down in T1, etc., right?
In that context, I think some of this is pretty interesting... like how UGA destroys Emory on this list. Probably because UGA places so well in GA and costs significantly less than Emory for in-state peeps.

lol @ lolwat. He notes the importance of the HYS tier, but then find "pretty interesting" a ranking system that doesn't even have "H" in the top 3. Pathetic. He does have a point though about UGA--that school has always been a wolf in sheep's clothing.

AlphaGo beats all the best human players in the world.
Nobody will care much about the ranking of Go players' ranking ever since.
Just like what happened to the chess players after Deep Blue.
People here worship in old tradition and elitism in legal education.
I am afraid that will change and I will be proud to join those who bring it down.

As a Chicago grad, this is great news and not surprising. I immediately received several calls from feeder judges asking me to clerk.

Dickinson is on fire in all of these rankings -- from NR to #27?? My guess is that they get near, or break into, the top 50 in the USNWR next year, once they factor in the past class's 90% employment %. Currently sitting at a USNWR #65 after a 21 point jump this year... based on "old" data that's not quite as good

Seton Hall is better than UCLA, seems accurate.

But it's all relative. 90% employment is great, but when the 75 percentile income is less than 70k, there is nothing to be excited about. The median at top schools is now 180k.
