Hi,

I was wondering...
Should we not talk about other law schools in LOCI?
For example, if you graduated from X and you are writing LOCI for Y, should you not talk about why you like Y instead of X?
Especially when there are similar programs in both X and Y...

There is no reason to mention other law schools in a LOCI. Do not mention other law schools in a LOCI.

I wouldn't. Talk about the strengths of the school you are writing the LOCI for and how you would be served by them and contribute to them (especially if the other school doesn't have those strengths (usually location related)) but you don't need to mention the other school directly.

I wondered because X and Y have similar institution and X has a higher rank, so I thought Y might think why coming to us if you graduated from X...they might think my first choice is law school of X

I don't believe the UG-LS connection is that strong. Do you want to go to X? Did you get in to X? Do you prefer Y? What are your plans if you don't get off this WL?
