That's the % in the top 100 firms, not the % in biglaw. If you want to know big law % look for the % of grads in 100+ attorney firms + the % in federal clerkships.

Agreed. There are way more than 100 law firms that pay market. Plus regional biglaw is a good gig as well and isn't included on this list.

Even this doesn't fully capture market paying work, but for the sake of clarity, this is a good break. It's also probably better to include smaller firm work in the more "prestigious" law schools in this calculation and less as you go down the list. NYU student going to a firm with 20-100 attorneys is more likely going to a boutique or regional midlaw firm that could very well pay market, whereas it's much less likely at Cardozo to be a market paying firm.

No one should include this type of calculation in deciding on a law school, but I think it's a non-negligible difference in the margins for employment.

I mean, shouldn't the best available measures of employment be exactly what your looking at when deciding on a LS? (Plus cost of course)

NLJ100 is a bad list and NLJ should feel bad

Also how have they not caught on that nearly all federal clerks go into firms after, so this is meaningless without counting first year clerks

Because this is a stupid list with stupid criteria for defining "biglaw".
