No. I don't like the idea of polluting the top tier with regional schools. Frankly, the T14 should be slimmed down, not fattened up. I've long championed the idea of setting the "prestige" cutoff based on the T10 of the year 2000. That was the year that the rankings got the most attention and best response rates—everyone wanted to get the important "millennial" rankings correct. Here are the top 20 schools that year:

1. Yale
2. Stanford
3. Harvard
4. NYU
5. Columbia
6. Chicago
7. Michigan
8. Berkeley
8. Virginia
10. Cornell
10. Duke

-----------------

12. Northwestern
12. Penn
14. GULC
15. Texas
16. UCLA
17. USC
18. Vanderbilt
19. Minnesota
20. Washington and Lee
My problem with the top 10 above is that I have a hard time considering middling state schools being elite at anything. Drop Chicago and NYU from that list and bump up Penn (I know, also a middling state school but they had a good football program at one point at least) and Georgetown (located in DC which is the most prestigious city in the US and technically a law center which sounds pretty neat to me) then I could live with it.

So it would be:
1. Yale
2. Stanford
3. Harvard
4. Columbia
5. Michigan
6. Berkeley
6. Virginia
8. Cornell
8. Duke
10. Penn
10. GULC
I thought you were serious there for a minute lol. I tend to view private schools as being better education wise in terms of quality but most private schools are smaller than their public counterparts(at UG, clearly Harvard and GULC have the population edge among elite law schools) and have alot less class options as a result. You need a lot of classes to keep places with 15-20,000 students running smoothly, not so with alot of these private schools(clearly there are exceptions) especially the LAC's. I personally would pick the public(again we're talking UG here because you said, "anything").

Well, not that these rankings mean much, but since someones apparently seen a leaked copy, it's likely going to appear any day now...

Based on a combo of prestige and biglaw/clerkship placement:
1. Yale
2. Harvard
3. Stanford
4. Columbia
5. Chicago
6. NYU
7. Penn
8. Duke
9. Northwestern
10. Cornell
11. Virginia
12. Michigan
13. Berkeley
14. GULC

Hm, these don't exactly match the tips from page 1 of this thread. Mainly, I don't see a school up 6 spots into the top 20. Expected to see Berkeley fall hard, especially after last year's scandal.

What's going on at W&L that jumped them up 12 spots into the top 30!?

They give each tip one piece of false information that way they can follow the leak to the original source and murder that person. RPumpkin.

I was pretty inactive on TLS last year and missed this.
What happened?

Their jobs numbers were pretty solid last year.

Columbia raised their LSAT numbers this year so that their 25/50/75 are all 2 points higher than Chicago. Chicago still kept the GPA higher, but LSAT is weighted more, and since USNWR weights medians pretty heavily, there's a good chance Columbia will get to keep the number 4 spot to itself.
HA!

Wonder whatever happened to UC Irvine's lofty goal of breaching the top 20.

IMO, the fact that they beat UCD and UCH is already a win.

Yeah. When someone said there was a surprising jump up from a Top 30 school, I truthfully thought it'd be UCI.
