Columbia's application indicates that "the résumé should include a summary of written scholarships, presentations..." What are these exactly in the undergraduate sense? For someone who just did an undergrad degree, what count as "written scholarships"? And we've all done various presentations for classes but what kind of presentations are we to include here? Anyone familiar with Columbia has an idea on this? Thank you.

I think they are referring to presentations at an academic conference, not in-class presentations. The former is often included on academic CVs, but is usually one of the first things axed if there are space constraints and one has actual publications and work experience.

Written scholarships I interpreted as being any kind of merit award or competitive grant.

I'm actually guessing that the real Columbia wording is "written scholarship", which would refer to any published work.

Written scholarship = research that is published in an academic journal or book

Presentations = speaking at academic conferences

Thanks everyone for the input. I double checked the actual wording is "written scholarships" though. Still means publications?

I mean, it kind of has to. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense, since you wouldn't refer to a financial scholarship as a "written scholarship".
