my app became ready only recently and I am planning to apply to HCCN and other T14s. Is it already too late in the app cycle to be applying to these very competitive schools? by how much one would have decreased their chances with such late app?

i also took LSAT 5 times over 3 years: 1 cancel, 3 mid 160s, a low 170s
do i need an addendum?

it'll be a small decrease in your likelihood of getting accepted but nothing material. you certainly don't need an addendum. if you don't like how your cycle plays out, you can always re-apply early next year.
