Has anyone else been put on "hold" in the admissions process? If so, what do you know about it? When can one generally expect to hear back? There isn't much info online, and the whole idea/process is vague.

I'm in the same situation with Washington and Lee and have been wondering the same thing. Have been on hold since 11/10.

The cycle I applied back 2 yrs ago before I decided to go on and get my Masters first before attempting to apply this next coming cycle I was held at two schools. From my understanding you weren't someone they wanted to reject or someone that they wanted to admit right off hand. It was kind of like the applicant was on the cusp. They usually wanted to see how the class was shaping up before they gave a decision. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. But that is what I took from it having gone through the process.

Think of it as an unofficial waitlist.

Definitely concur. NU told us that the hold list was ranked higher than the waitlist, but I simply don't think that's the case.

Has anyone else that has been placed on hold received an admit? And if so, what month?
