Top Law Schools

I have a 3.8 GPA and a 167 LSAT score (December 2016). Non URM. I have approximately 4.5 years of work experience prior to entering law school. With that in mind, what are my chances (including admission with scholarship) for the following schools:

1) Columbia (I have a feeling my odds are crap here)
2) NYU (same )
3) Duke
4) Cornell
5) Northwestern
6) UC-Berkeley
7) UCLA
8 ) Fordham
9) UVA
10) Vanderbilt
11) Washington University in St. Louis

9) UVA Maybe, but probably less than 1/3 scholly if admit
10) Vanderbilt In definitely
11) Washington University in St. Louis In, but probably less $$$ than if you had 168

You will get into some of the t14, but probably not with a lot of money. You have a great GPA. You should really retake. Another 4-5 points on the LSAT and you are looking at money from Columbia and potentially snagging H. You really owe it to your financial future to retake and just focus on a few more points. It will be life changing.

Hmmm not really sure about that "in for sure" at Berkeley...people with much higher numbers get turned down. Berkeley is really a black box hahah

Got into Michigan ED (foolishly) with 30k with a 3.83, 167. Retook and luckily got quite a bit more money. However, I applied rather early in the cycle in October. It is very likely that you will not get into Columbia, NYU, Duke, or UVA. You will get into Cornell and Northwestern with maybe a small amount of money. Berkeley is always hard to predict. You will get into Vandy, WUSTL, UCLA, and Fordham with big money.

As a reminder, I am not telling you anything that Law School numbers could not. If you feel like you left points on the table, I cannot urge you strongly enough to sit it out this cycle, save some money and have fun with your life, retake in Feb and June if necessary, and apply on the day the application opens next year. I took for the first time in October 2015 and got a score well below my average, retook in December 2015 after being admitted to Michigan ED, and my scholarship went up massively. Trust me. The amount of money that you will save is mind blowing. At least consider this approach.

Thanks everyone. Some additional information may be helpful here. This was actually my third LSAT. I took one in 2012 and got a 160 and retook in Oct. 2016 with a 161. These scores were way lower than where I had been testing so I retook in Dec. 2016 and got the 167.

So I'm fresh out of LSATs. The good news is that I won't have debt from law school, which I am extremely grateful for and I know that most students don't have this option. But sure, it's always nice to save money.

You should have another retake be available this year

so these are my numbers and I was admitted at UCLA and Duke, just so you know.

Yeah you have another retake available to you if the cycle doesn't go as you hoped. 3 takes every 2 years with rolling window. Retake.

Your 2012 LSAT no longer counts as one of your three takes in two years (as others have said), fyi.

Definitely retake June and see if you can squeeze out some more points
