Top Law Schools

I've read a few times on TLS that you don't need to write Why X essays for CCN. This makes sense given that the schools don't practice YP.

But for a borderline applicant (168/169, 3.6-3.7) who dreams of attending, would it be worth writing why x's? Thinking that anything I can do to make an impact could be useful but would appreciate some advice

Imo if you have clear reasons for why you want to attend X, you should tell them. You shouldn't write a "Why X" statement just for the sake of having more, because it can backfire. Think about why you want to apply to the schools you're looking at, and if you find that there are clear things you can point to as to why you want to be at that particular school (i.e. programs, clinics, specialties, etc.), then you should tell the admissions committee.
