172 is a really good score. If you really feel like you can get a higher score though, then go for it. schools only care about your highest anyways

Depends on your goals. If you want HYS, then yes. If you want money at CCN, then yes.

If you want money at a lower T14, then no real point in a retake.

Depends on your goals I suppose. Also on your GPA/URM status.

If your GPA is below the 25th percentile for your target school (meaning, you're a splitter), I can see a case to be made for trying to get above that school's 75th. That said, a 172 is above most schools' 75ths so, unless you're gunning HYS, you're probably only going to see marginal improvement (if any) from a retake.

So, tl;dr, if you're a non-URM splitter who still has HYS aspirations. Yes. Otherwise, no.

No. Once you're solidly above the 75th percentile for a school, there's no real difference in scholarship offers. The only exception would be if you wanted to leverage an admission/scholarship at HYSCCN against a lower T14 school, in which case the higher score affects the HYSCCN offers.
