English proficiency for internationals.

Hey all,
I'm an international applicant in the coming cycle, educated outside the States. I know that law schools' websites state that international applicants must show proficiency via an English-language test (like the TOEFL or IELTS) but was wondering if there is any way around that.
I scored a 172 on my LSAT. I have a Master's degree from the London School of Economics, and my undergrad was taught in English as well. I have taken both the TOEFL and IELTS previously but those score reports are only valid for 2 years and have, hence, expired.
These exams are really expensive -- almost as much as the LSAT -- and I would really like to find a way to avoid taking them. Any other international applicants / JD students with some tips?
