Do academic pursuits count as "softs"?

Post by preamble » Tue Jul 05, 2016 2:46 pm

Do particular academic pursuits count as softs - or are they more just an extension of GPA/scholastic performance?

I'm referring specifically to

-- Participation/enrollment in an Honors College
-- Completion of an Honors Senior Thesis
-- Completion of a second major/minor

I know that LSAT and GPA are king, etc. and that softs don't really matter unless you cured cancer in between your practices for Rio 2016, but I'm still curious.

A published thesis certainly counts as a soft. Honors, etc. are just parts of your transcript, so they fall under academics (and since your GPA probably already reflects whether you got honors, it's redundant).
