When to solicit fee waivers?

I've seen a lot of talk about how to ask for a fee waiver, but haven't seen when I can start asking schools.
I am applying next cycle and hoping to submit the day apps open. Will I be able to get fee waivers before then (July / August) or will I have to swallow the cost or wait a few weeks (September / October)?

Thanks.

The week before apps come out at the soonest. It doesn't really matter when you get it as long as you get it day one apps come out.

I already received seven fee waivers out of the 12 schools I am applying to. I emailed yesterday, and they all got back relatively quickly.

Sure! So far I've gotten waivers from Georgetown, Michigan, Cornell, UPenn, UVA, GWU and Emory.

NYU, UT Austin and Vanderbilt said they will send out fee waiver emails through CRS later in August. Northwestern said its admissions council hasn't yet decided whether they will waive fees for all students for a specified period of time like they did last year, but that they have done it many years before and there's no reason why they wouldn't again this year. No word yet from Duke, but I got a fee waiver from them last cycle. In fact, I got waivers from all the aforementioned schools and more last cycle but decided to sit out to retake the LSAT.

In case it helps, my stats are 3.95 GPA and 167 LSAT. Happy applying!

Can anyone verify these schools? I reached out to a couple of the schools listed and they emailed back and directed me to their fee waiver policy on their websites.

Thanks

I emailed most of the ones pizza had success with. So far, Penn directed me to the fee waiver policy too. (UChi did the same thing FYI). I have pretty high numbers, so I think it may be that pizza got these fee waivers because he said he received em last year. Just a guess tho, and I haven't heard back from a few yet.
