Ms. Alaburda never incurred any actual injury, because she was offered — and turned down — a law firm job with a $60,000 salary shortly after she graduated.

If you go to a TTTT and then turn down a 60k job offer in a secondary market, you deserve zero sympathy.

I mean, maybe there wasn't quite as much info on the internet when she attended school. But still, one would think if you just googled "thomas jefferson law" you'd figure out it's a terrible idea in about three seconds.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out though, to see if they really did exaggerate their numbers.

On one hand I have little sympathy for her who went to a shit law school and turned down a job offer for 60k. On the other hand these bottom feeder law schools are really just scams and are detrimental to the student. So i say : LET THEM FIGHT.

Completely disagree. These schools traded on abusing the trust of their students and they still do so. There wasn't info out that law schools, which demand such ethical conduct from applicants and students, were huge liars guilty of the most gross misrepresentation of the truth.

You guys are way too hard on these students and not demanding enough to hold schools to high standards.
It took the threat of congressional investigation to get them to release even the info that they currently do.

Pretty much every school lies about admissions. If anything being on TLS should show you how naive 0Ls are and how they trust marketing materials.

naive leaps of faith taking on 6-figure debt should not be protected. this is abnormal behavior and we shouldn't try to mold the system to accommodate shitty decision-making.

You guys have no idea how opaque all this used to be, pre-Law School Transparency. You couldn't get straight information. It's not shocking that people believed what the schools told them - they didn't have any other info.

It wasn just TTTT schools. They all lied about employment and boosted tuition to an absurd rate over actual cost. If you don't think the T14 were lying as well, you are dead wrong. How long were they hiring students (at low wages) to boost their employment numbers without disclosing? Just yesterday I saw Michigan boosted its employment with year long employment to 8.5% of their class. They aren't alone.

How many schools still lie about "holistic admissions" or send out fee waivers just to increase their selectivity.

Alabama increases selectivity and improves its rankings by sending out Itunes card to people who apply that they will never admit.

You guys are still incredibly naive about how much schools are shilling for applicants and students.

Look at GW and Fordham. Or even Georgetown. Even Columbia on their website a few years was was still telling people to only take the LSAT once. They might still be.

I mean why do you think Yield Protect is at thing at T14 schools? It isn't because they are admitting the best students. They are gaming the rankings with every admission.

I remember hearing some students discussing the possibility of an investigation of some sort into Thomas Jefferson School of Law a while back - possibly even the prospect of it being shut down completely. Does anyone know whether or not this is true?

I took a class for my job with a woman who graduated from TJSL. She told me, word for word, "I interned with graduates from Harvard and I felt like we had the same skillset."

As she's sitting in a class with twenty year olds for a job not in anyway related to the law.
