So do i really have to pay a $30 report fee for every school i apply to? So even if the application fee is waived, the minimum amount i have to pay for each application is $30 each? How do people afford to apply for 20-30 schools if they are having to pay $30 for each of the 20-30 apps..

I applied to 17 since I was a splitter and was not sure where I would end up. I blanketed the lower T14 and the rest were T1 and T2 schools that I realistically expected to attend and their peer schools in order to negotiate scholarships. In the grand scheme of things, you're looking at 100-300k in debt. If there's any possibility at all that another $30 will help to bring that down by a few thousand, it's worth it.

I ended up applying to 16 schools. Around 500 or whatever in application fees is nothing compared to the possible money you can gain through scholarship negotiations and or acceptances you didn't think you would get.
