What are your T14 school tiers?

If you had to break the T14 into peer groups of basically equivalent schools (from an employment perspective), how would it go? Seems like the traditional view is HYS/CCN/PVMB/NDCG, but some people are starting to group Penn with CCN and put M in the bottom tier.

Im biased but Duke is certainly not in the Michigan/NW/Cornell/GT tier. Duke was the only school last year to keep its LSAT (between D, UVA and Berk) median while UVA and Berkeley dropped and so did NYU. Duke and NYU now have the same median. Also Duke's employment numbers are much better than NW/GT etc. Also, Michigan has fallen on rough times and is clearly in the bottom group with the past couple of years from the data.

So in my biased opinion its
YHS/CCN/PDVB/MNCG in that order with Columbia and Chicago interchangeable.

Why are Penn and Cornell on the bottom? Is that a joke?! In terms of employment, Penn and Cornell>NBVMNDG
Wrong. Both Penn and Cornell suffer from being the TTTT of the Ivy League schools. When I see a resume from a Penn or Cornell student, I think: "Oh, look, another student who couldn't get into YLS, HLS, or CLS." That's why good firms won't hire from P/C.

The LSAT should have little to nothing to do with how you tier these schools... For example, Berk could easily have a 169-70 LSAT median if they wanted, but they choose to focus on other things.
OP wants to know from a Employment/"Prestige" point of view.

Clearly . . .

Y/HS/CCN/PV/CDBN/M/G

For those of you with like Duke or Berkeley or Michigan two tiers above Cornell, what could possibly be the reason? You should really only be judging this based on employment prospects.

Curious about this too. Cornell seems to have great NYC biglaw placement.

While I'm being nit-picky. I wouldn't put ">>>" from B to M.

While Berk did outperform Mich in BL/FC in 2014, Mich had a higher % than Berk in 2013

1 > is allowed. not 3.

Wachtell, by far the most elite and selective firm, hires Penn grads every single year. They don't even go to OCI at schools outside of HYSCCNPB. If you want to stay on the topic of prestige, how is NYU more prestigious? Its undergraduate institution is ranked #32, which disqualifies it from being considered an elite school. Same goes for Michigan and UVA, the latter of which is for frat boys. All of Penn's schools (law, undergrad, medical, dental, business, etc) are in the top 10. You can conceivably make the prestige argument about Cornell, but you can't make it about Penn. Sorry! I don't expect a response, as you more likely than not have realized by now that you just wrote the most inaccurate and laughable post on TLS.
While I do not doubt that Penn has a top-tier dental school, its law school is second-rate at best. You honestly believe that Penn and Columbia are peer schools? Just LOL. In your opinion, is the number four a peer of the number seven? I didn't think so. And even USNWR vastly overvalues Penn. It's telling that you cherry picked the example of Wachtell. First, Wachtell doesn't even attend Cornell's OCI, which proves my point about Cornell's bottom-of-the-barrel status. As for Wachtell and Penn, it's well known that Wachtell attends Penn OCI so that its few CLS grads can feel superior to other law students for a few hours each Fall. It's basically just a morale boosting thing for Wachtell's non-HYS grads.

And, yes, I am from Kentucky. Do you have a problem with that?

It doesn't really matter what his point of view is based on, or even if it's correct for that matter. What matters is how the people who make hiring decisions view the schools, irrespective of their reasons. We can argue about it all day, but no one gives a shit about what a bunch of law students think about their own schools.

SB/D/VGP/NCCN/HYMC

I ranked them in order of least likely to wear a heavy jacket during the winter, I thought that would be unique.

You've ranked Chicago and Northwestern too high. They probably should swap with H and Y. Otherwise, solid list.
