Agreed, very rarely do I think it's a good idea to write an addendum. This is one of those instances.

My only advice would be if you write your PS on the same topic, try to refrain from being overly repetitive. (Obviously there would have to be some overlap, but perhaps the PS could be more about overcoming the difficulties, whereas the addendum could be more factual). Just my thoughts.

Thank you for your advice. I honestly wasn't sure whether my circumstance would amount to an addendum-worthy case.
