ED-scholarship chances?

Hi all,I would like to ED a school (have not decided yet). However, the common sense is that ED would makes us have no leverage to bargain for scholarship, except NU, which offers 150,000. The deadline for ED NU has already passed, so any one have other inside story regarding how to negotiate scholarship or there are chances to get scholarship while ED schools would like to share? Millions and thanks!
Law school is just too expensive

GW law has both a regular ED and a full-ride ED program, similar to NU. Other than programs that specify dollar amounts (like GW and NU and possibly others) do NOT apply ED if you expect even a single penny. It's not a matter of "well I don't have much leverage" its... "It will not happen". You won't likely see a dime.

Yup, and I'm bored enough to notice it and write a post about it

I think Emory offers some scholarship with ED, it said at least 48,000 for 3 years. so about 1/3 of the tuition. You might get more, but u won't know the number until later.

Why? You like the thought of it? The sound? You want to be some school's eddie? You like how it's also an abbreviation for erectile dysfunction?

Because I have been constantly told that it would boost my chances to be admitted. Right?

It does...but mostly because they don't have to give you scholarships.

Actually, for some schools, it doesn't. At some schools you have a lesser chance of getting accepted via ED (or just no boost). idk where the numbers are, but maybe someone can post that link.

That's because at these schools ED comes with a scholarship. The schools with small or nonexistent scholarships for their ED applicants tend to admit at a higher rate.

It could also be that people who apply ED in general have lower scores than those who apply RD. In other words, the same ED cohort would have even lower acceptance rate if they applied RD. Just speculating.

And UT Austin give Out-state ED applicants In-State tuition for 3 years, for in-state you got 10,000/yr for stipend. I think UGA has the same shorlaship system for Out-state students too.

Thanks for telling me that. After I read the Blog you mentioned, it says except UVA and UChicago, other schools (that will boost chances to be admitted in for ED) would not reduce scholarship only because you ED that school. I do not know whether..it applies generally..It's a dilemma I supposed.
