Top Law Schools

Due to some personal reason I might have to move to Canada for Law school.
And i know nothing about it.
So anyone one can give me some information?
And it is possible in the future to practice in U.S with a Canadian JD? In California/NY probably since that is where my parents are.

Lawstudents.ca is a good forum for Canadian JD questions. The schools generally place less of an emphasis on LSAT and more on GPA than the US does. The best school U of T has around a 167 lsat median but the median gpa is around a 3.8. Also some schools look at last 2 or best 2. Schools are also generally cheaper than the US but merit aid is pretty rare and usually only for one year. Lastly, you can sit for the NY bar with a degree from Ontario, however i think its pretty rare for people to get jobs there. Only a couple from U of T get Biglaw NYC jobs and i dont think any other school places anyone in NYC. If youre goals arent biglaw then its a little different, howver youd obviously be competing with the US grads. I dont know how much weight a Canadian degree holds.

Going to law school in Canada in order to find a job in NY or LA seems like an inherently bad idea.

90% chance I will just stay in Canada since that is where my fiancé and his family will be staying, but I just want have the option to move back to U.S because my own family are here.
