Question About Status Checkers

How often do you find out early with them? Based on what I've experienced, it seems to me that there is likely a very tiny window of at most a few days between when a decision is made and I am notified. I haven't found out via status checker before email/phone call yet, so this is mostly just a guess, and I'm curious how much early people generally find out, and - if you have some exceptional story - what is the earliest people have found out via status checker. I mean, has anyone had their status checker indicate acceptance more than 3 weeks prior to their getting notification?
It just doesn't seem to me like I'm going to get much use out of status checker if it only lets me know a few days earlier.

It's not just for decision, it's also to ensure that your application materials have all been submitted. It can be helpful to follow the timeline of complete, UR, Interview, Decision, etc. just to know what to be expecting.

Oh alright. That makes sense - thanks.

Yea, but essentially you're right ime. The "decision" is shortly followed by an email/phone call so almost unnecessary for those purposes.

Just had a weird experience. I called a school - a safety - because I went on status checker and it indicated that the school hadn't received my transcripts - seemed odd since that's sent by LSAC. So I called them, just to make sure everything is in order, and I was told that I've been accepted. ^_- That was this morning. Just went back to look at the status checker - still says in review.
Oh lolz. I mean when you find out you find out, but that definitely seemed a little weird.

Yea. That's very weird though probably not inconsistent with some schools. Idk how the data entry works but I'd imagine some schools are pretty lax about it. Grats on that accept, though. Definitely one of the more interesting ways to find out, I'd imagine.

It's mostly psychological reassurance telling you they have not forgotten your application even they haven't contacted you for a while. Plus there is some chance that their notification e-mails get classified as spam or accidentally deleted.
