I read the lsac info on the gpa calc and it seems to conflict. I have one non punitive W on my transcript. However my transcript says I have three more attempted credits than earned. Will it mess with my lsac gpa? I mean I'm assuming any W would be classified as attempted but not earned but I'm confused now

Hi Utterson,
I had the same worry for over a year, thinking that even though my W's were non-punitive at my institution, but showed under transcript totals as attempted credit for them, that LSAC would pick them up as failing grades. They did not do this at all. What they mean by credit attempted and not earned is if you receive a grade like "No Credit earned" and there are attempted hours, then that would be calculated as Fs. In that sentence on LSAC's website, "We consider failure as credit attempted but not earned" they go on to say in the next sentence or so that the exception to that is "Withdrawal grades not counted as punitive".
There is a website that very few seem to know exists, but if you go to LSAC website, under "resources" then going to publications, you will find a link - Interpretive Guide to undergraduate grading systems. Click on it, and you can type in your school and see what LSAC excludes from their calculations. Ill paste it right here for you:
http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/publications/igugs click at the enter tab at the bottom and will let you type in your school to see
Hope this helps at least somewhat. Ive had the same worry - and it drove me nuts when I would call and the representatives wouldnt give me any information, so hope I shielded someone else from some worry.

My transcript said the same thing. No it doesn't affect your GPA. My lsac GPA was higher than my UG transcript.
