Top Law Schools

Hey guys, I have a quick question and would love some help.

For background info: I am applying to most of the T-14 and have a GPA (from a top 10 national university) and LSAT that put me at/above all medians and most 75ths.

I have all of my application materials ready except for one letter of recommendation. I have two other LoRs ready, one from a professor and one from a partner at a law firm that I worked very closely with over the summer. The LoR that I am waiting on was written by a professor from my major (Econ) and I believe it will be a very strong letter. He let me know today that he sent it, but he sent a physical copy so I don't expect the LSAC will process it for at least two weeks.

I am itching to get my applications sent off but also I want that LoR to be looked at as part of my application. I was considering sending the applications in with two letters and then updating them with the 3rd once it gets processed. Is there any reason not to do this? Also will the third letter be considered if it isn't sent in at the same time as the original complete application? I really want the third letter considered (especially for HYS) so I wanted to make sure it would still be considered if sent later before I made any decisions.

Once you hit submit, it takes the LSAC approximately 24-48 hours to get the CAS report to the school (at a minimum). The school must affirmatively request your report as well. This could add more time. If new or supplemental materials are received following the first report's generation, LSAC will send another report to the school.

In short, apply now. LSAC will take everything from there.

Also, LoR are almost meaningless in my opinion and observation. It is more likely a letter would harm you than help you. Like the essay portion of the LSAT, don't do anything stupid, but the number matters more.

I applied with only 2 LoRs last year and nobody cared.

In pretty much the same position as you. Frustrating a bit, no?

I'm waiting, at least for another couple of weeks. There's no difference between applying now and mid October. If it gets to that point I'll reevaluate, but for now I'm not too worried about it (although I'm itching like crazy to get everything submitted as well).

Apply and e-mail all the schools that you're prof. sent his in and LSAC is waiting for it, but you want to apply early because you're interested in the school (or don't add the second part).

I'm with the guy who mentioned most schools/all do not really give a phuck about your LORs and it can literally only hurt rather than help you in 99/100 situations.
