I recently asked a T.A., whom I have a very close relationship with, for a letter of recommendation. She would be more than glad to write it, but said she wants to write it on behalf of the professor and have him sign off on it. Is this normal/allowed? If so, who's name/email should I put into LSAC and have all forms and instructions sent to? Thanks!

From what I understand, it's pretty common. I think you send it to the prof, but inform the TA so that she can get in touch with him to work out the specifics.

For some students, it may be common for a T.A. to write a letter on behalf of a professor, but it will be read and approved by the professor before submission. If you are looking for what information to place in your application, it is best to contact the T.A. and what she and the professor have agreed to.

If he/she wants to do it on behalf of the professor, then you may want to put your professor's name and email and have the letter submitted by the professor. The TA can write a draft, of course.
