How bad would this be?

Would it be possible to contact an admissions office and request to change my application to ED, even after its been sent in and complete? I didn't forget to apply ED, but I've made up my mind that if I could do it over, I would have. I'm just curious to know if it would look unprofessional/desperate or if they would find some positive in it.
Has anyone done this? Is it worth doing?

Why would you do that? Without knowing the specifics of your situation, applying ED to law school is almost certainly not a good idea.

Unless there are financial implications to applying ED, it is often not worth it. Many schools do not give a boost to ED applicants and those that give scholly money would likely only accept those who would get similar scholly money applying RD. There's not much they would do about it, I don't think...They'd either say yes or no. I don't see why it would result in a giant X on your app.

Is money not a factor for you?
Fortunately, money is not a factor. The ED would be because I'm just below competitive stats and there is
some research that says the ED bump is real.
I'd also be very happy at the school. Unless I randomly got into a T6 school by some miracle, I would want to go to this school.

So...GULC, UVA, or Duke?
ETA: my money is on Duke.

By money is not a factor, please tell me that this means your family/you are footing the bill from cash on hand, not that you're comfortable taking out $300K in loans because you want to be a lawyer.
Family is footing the bill. It's not something I'm super comfortable talking about, but I'm in a really fortunate financial situation. I think they would be willing to pay more if it meant going to a significantly better school.
