You have a good GPA don't waster it on schools like Northeastern and American. Have you thought about NYU for public interest?

Yeah please don't go to Maryland or American with those numbers. As it stands I think you have a good shot at GULC. I have a friend that got into NYU with a 167. I know it's anecdata, but I'm telling you it's definitely doable.

Since you're pursuing public interest, you may want competitive $$ offers - you'd be better off applying earlier in the rolling cycle instead of waiting, in that case. Why wait for the schools to hand out their best offers to other folks? You are on the borderline of getting into excellent schools just on numbers; if you're aiming for an October LSAT retake, maybe wait on those T14 apps. As the wife of a public interest lawyer, aiming for less debt is really key. He went to HLS then into public interest, and frankly a lot of his colleagues teased him about that, even though that was always his plan. LIPP is pretty good, but still a hassle, mostly because private lenders are the ever-loving worst and make administration of life events difficult. It sounds like you're doing your homework on what schools have the best PI programs; best of luck this cycle -

Don't understand why anyone would tease your husband for going to Harvard and getting into PI. Plenty of T14 grads get into PI. And PI hiring is similar to firm hiring in that the elite jobs go to graduates of elite schools.
