Top Law Schools

For schools that don't explicitly give the option of writing a why x statement, is it over the top to still write one? Should I just try and weave it into the PS or could/should I add an addendum?

I have some pretty specific reasons for a couple schools that don't mention why X essays and I'm just wondering about the best reason to make sure they know those reasons. Thanks!

I'm not exactly sure, but I've heard that if one or both of your numbers is below median, a why x essay is a good idea. So in the area that asks for additional addenda (if there isn't a place that specifically asks for it) that's where I plan on uploading. I've heard that if both numbers are at or above median, they don't bother to read the why x, but I figure if you're a splitter and they see you cared enough to write a couple of extra paragraphs, it couldn't hurt - even if it wasn't specifically asked for. That's what I'm doing anyway.

Only for UVA. It is more or less an unspoken requirement.
