OP wasn't talking about a boost; he/she asked which schools "care". Now, we can deliberate upon the meaning of that word until we are blue in the face (awesome word choice, OP!), but a school wouldn't offer ED, unless they saw some sort of tangible benefit for themselves, the student, or both.

I'd be wary of ED'ing. At all but the few schools that offer full scholarships to ED applicants, you'll be stuck paying sticker.
