I took in Feb and have all my materials ready. I've seen some talk on here about how admissions doesn't start till October, but still, is it bad/pointless to apply in September?

If you are ready, you are ready. I don't understand your concern about this potentially harming your application. Again, this is assuming you have tediously prepared everything.

You cannot apply until LSAC "opens up" said application for School X.

If you're all set, then no. Applying that early is good.

Actually, you want to come off hard to get. When you get a call from admissions, let it go for a few rings. Be a bit of a jerk; adcomms are suckers for jerks and never admit nice guys. You don't want to appear all eager and needy by applying early. Try to send in your apps right before the deadline to give off the impression that you don't care whether they admit you or not, since you have so many options available to you. It'll make you seem more desirable.
