School specific LORs?

Is there any benefit in asking your recommenders to write multiple letters, so that each letter says the name of that school specifically in the letter. Nothing else in the letter will be changed other than the fact that it will say school X.

That's what it sounds like OP is asking about.
OP, I'm of the opinion that if your recommender is not an alum of the school who can specifically speak to how you will perform at that particular school based on their own experience, then it's just as useless a gimmick as putting the law school name in your PS and then saying nothing else about the school.
Thanks so much- that's what I figured. As an aside, you seem to imply that if you are going to mention some specifics about the school then you should put in your ps not write an addendum like why x. Am I reading you correctly?

No I think what benwyatt is saying is that just mentioning a school briefly in a PS is a useless gimmick. A Why X essay allows you to write something more substantial and doesn't confine you to the topic of your PS
I hear you. So is it recommended to mention the name of a school in your ps or leave it blank. Assuming you have something to say about the school.

pittsburghpirates is correct. Some people will write more than one PS when they have something specific and personal to say about why they want to go to a particular school. I've seen a few of these around TLS that I think accomplish the goal well, but a Why X essay is always better IMO
Thanks everyone for your help
