Haha, true! And, also why I think the law bldg isn't the prettiest...it seems like they're giving all their money to the students, so that's cool...but, I also really think that within the next 2-3 yrs their numbers are going to improve, esp w the new dean, etc.KamronK wrote: Yep, I don't mind. I hope so. At least they are renovating the classrooms for next year. I'm looking forward to that.justabitunusual wrote:Haha, true! Confirmed...still no medians...https://www.law.asu.edu/degree-programs/jd
No medians--but a friend at an admissions fair was given the following info from ASU rep:
Entering class
225 (apparently they have 8 "advanced standing" JDs)
GPA: 3.38 (+.01)/??/3.80 (+0.02)
LSAT: 158 (+1)/??/163 (0)
This was "as of" orientation they told him.[/quote]

The two Penn State Schools:
University Park
LSAT: 152-158-159
GPA: 3.15-3.58-3.73
Enrollment: 138 (can't compare to last year because the school split, and this is the first separately recruited class)

Carlisle
LSAT: 158-159-161
GPA: 3.15-3.46-3.74
Enrollment: 64

Looks like Carlisle is coming out ahead in the divorce.

True, but if you can maintain those numbers (remember the type of school we're talking about, here) and have fewer graduates to place, isn't that a better model?pleadthafif wrote:64 is a really small class!psu2016 wrote:The two Penn State Schools:

Minnesota's placement numbers are mediocre, it has no national reputation or network, it costs an arm and a leg, and ghostly portraits of dead men festoon their classrooms.

Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
UMN has less need for a national reputation than schools like UWash and Vandy that are in states with no legal market. UMN grads can easily get biglaw jobs in Minneapolis starting at 120k, whereas those other schools have to send people to the coasts, which should make them less attractive because you are competing with grads from Penn, Harvard, Berkeley, etc whereas UMN dominates its own niche biglaw market.Moneytrees wrote:Minnesota's placement numbers are mediocre, it has no national reputation or network, it costs an arm and a leg, and ghostly portraits of dead men festoon their classrooms.

Any speculation as to when 509's will be published? Isn't it supposed to be sometime in November?

Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
This is not supported by any data. Only like 10 to 15% of each graduating class gets Biglaw jobs out of Minnesota. Which would be fine, if it didn't cost so damn much. It's the epitome of mediocrity.MAPP wrote:UMN has less need for a national reputation than schools like UWash and Vandy that are in states with no legal market.
