Agree with above poster. Also, some schools might waive it depending on certain conditions. For example, UT waived their application fee last year for instate residents applying directly through their website (if I remember correctly). Not sure if other schools have this, but it could be worth looking into.

yeah this. applying early helps but a couple weeks early on won't make much of a difference at all - wait for the waivers.

Here's a way to check and see which T14s may offer fee waivers for apps before you get your score back if you really want to apply earlier.
