What alternative careers are there for someone with an interest in law? I am not sure I want to go to law school and spend so much on a legal education but I am interested in law in general.

Thanks

What do you mean by an "interest in law?" And what kind of career would you like to have? I'm not asking about specific jobs just a general, what are you hoping to accomplish?

work as a paralegal and see if you like it/can deal with it.

if you are talking about full blown careers accounting is very similar to law.

F that. To this day, the two accounting classes I took in UG are the two hardest classes I've ever taken in my life.

I've got a friend the works gifts at a large hospital. She is the go-between for the donors and the lawyers.

Accounting is not easy, just like how law is not easy.

Be a cop. Good pay. Good benefits. Respectable career. All my friends in LE say it's rewarding/interesting/fun.

Law is pretty easy. It's mostly unskilled labor.

You are confusing the myriad of reasons that make billing 2200+ hours unpleasant with the difficulty of the work itself

The reason accounting is hard is because it is boring but also requires 100% of your attention for most of your waking hours.. This Sounds like exactly what people hate about law.

I thoroughly enjoyed government contracting, but you may not. It mostly depends on why you're so interested in law in the first place. If you are interested in law as a mechanism for putting the bad guys in jail or something, maybe police department -> detective would be something you'd be interested in. If you like the whole troubleshooting-as-a-career thing, I'm sure there are many careers that tap into problem solving skills.

Some types of social work are very similar to civil legal aid.
