Is a 3.43 viewed much differently than a 3.48? How much importance is the last decimal given? Because one admissions officer I spoke to just talked about the first decimal. Like 3.4 or 3.5. When mentioned GPA he just said 3.4.

How much importance do schools give that? Obviously 3.48 is better than a 3.43 but is it that big of a deal? Or do schools look more at 3.4,3.5, 3.6 and so on.

I don't think anyone will be able to answer that question with any certainty. I guess it could matter because US News runs on LSAT median so if a school has a 3.45 median the difference your GPA would affect it as much as the difference between 2 and 4.

It matters a lot if a school's median is somewhere between 3.43 and 3.48. If the school's median is 3.2 or 3.7, it will matter very little. Maybe as a tiebreaker between two otherwise identical applicants.
