Top Law Schools

I have searched ad nauseam regarding how my GPA will be reflected on my law schools app's. My school GPA is 3.81, whereas my LSAC cumulative GPA is a 3.25. I received some C's back in my first two years of school, however my actual degree undergrad I have gotten almost straight A's, with the exception of 2 classes where I received a B+ in both.

When I start sending out my Apps, I will be using my degree GPA, but how will my LSAC cumulative show on my application?

The schools are going to look at your LSAC GPA first and foremost, but having a higher degree GPA can help a little bit

I appreciate the info! It stinks that classes back in 2003 are coming back to haunt me today. Oh well. I will definitely attach an addendum.

I have heard (anecdotal evidence alert) first hand from law admissions officers that substantial differences in time between degrees/work impacts their decision and they may be more considerate of your circumstances. Especially considering this is from over a decade ago (2003!?).

This is from a discussion I had with an adcom on the impact of having worked all 4 years on my GPA (and the further two years of work experience I have gathered post-graduation). Both lead to the distancing between your otherwise good stats and bad GPA. The key is to prove that you are still a quality candidate, despite everything, with a killer LSAT.

Yes, I graduated high school in 2003, started at community college, went to school for three semesters, ENC1101 and ENC1102 I got a B and a C+, and all the other classes I took were B's and C's... Then I went back to school in 2008 to the same school and got into the Paramedic program. The program was four semesters, and I mostly had B's and A's with a C in Anatomy and a C in another class. Graduated Medic school December 2010 , and then went back to get my Bachelor's. I started my bachelor program January of 2014, and will be graduating May 9th this year. Also made the dean's list each semester.

So my undergrad has been kind of spread out over the last 12 years. Started a business during Medic school, and worked over 60+ hours a week while in medic school, and also while in my current program. So to have been maintaining a 3.81 and then see a 3.25, it sucks but at the same time that is of my own personal doing.
