Not all of us 30 year olds are mature - and although I am not hungover as much as I was 7 years ago, I still obsess about getting laid just as much...brokendowncar wrote:There is no way it will run your life like it does the average 23 year old. Almost every 23 year old guy I know can't settle down and has to find a new girl every month. Surely once we mature we will settle down?

There are plenty of women in law school...

"Mature" and "Old" are not the same thing (I'm Captain Obvious).brokendowncar wrote:There is no way it will run your life like it does the average 23 year old. Almost every 23 year old guy I know can't settle down and has to find a new girl every month. Surely once we mature we will settle down?

Plus, the average associate only does 3-5 years in BigLaw anyways.Drew82abndiv wrote:IMO law firms will look highly upon someone more mature with more experience. Plus, 33 is not that old! They can still get 25+ years out of you at the firm if you are worth your weight so no big deal! Like a previous poster said, if it is what you want - go for it...you only live once!

Kind of worried that the youngsters in my class won't stay off my lawn and will keep blasting their gosh-darned Lady GuGu from their itunes at my house.

Re: Is 30 too old for law school?

I saw some how to go to Law School books, postings, brought PLS, Delaney's books, Montauk's book on How to get Into Top Law Schools. I also brought some LSAT books as if I am going to apply. I am still doing some IT stuff, money is ok, and plan to stay in Federal until I finally retire. So IF mental and health holds up, and I still have the desire, I feel I still want to pull the trigger at 65-67. By then most of the $$ is ok, my plan is to go to school part time.
I see that they want you to finish in 4 years part time, but if decide to take 6-7 years is that ok. I assume I can get in and that I can study my way to a decent LSAT score. 160 or higher is fine. I am in the Georgetown, George Washington Univer, Univer of Md Law School, Catholic Law, etc area. If I can still work, will try to find a Federal Govenment law job. I still like IT so I plan to continue doing certifications, maybe CCIE routing and switchiing to keep my hand in it.
Sorry for the long winded email just wanted to see ...
Some friends think its ok, some family members say but you will be too old why bother. Well its what I always wanted to do but $$, time, mortgage, etc and did not want to risk it 20 years ago. NOw its at least feasible. At that time not sure I wanted it that badly. Now I've done some other things.
