For instance, here's a question I posed:
Scholarship offers at most law schools track very closely with LSAT/GPA. I imagine that offers from KU, even granting a certain holistic element, generally conform to that statement. Considering that students with higher scores tend to come from more privileged backgrounds and are more likely to succeed in law school and ultimately in finding employment, why do you feel such a policy is justified?
Do you think that might receive a decent response? And a more illuminating answer than trying to get him to say that KU is a horseshit place to go if you want to practice anywhere except for Wichita making $35k?

Duh. Of course. But hopefully people have the social awareness to understand how to modulate how they interact and question people in order to get the best responses from them.
so your issue with it was just about tone, not substance?

that's a completely different debate than the page and a half of posts about the dean's bl claims

the dean is a big boy
he can handle a difficult question or choose not to answer it

if anything, the back and forth debating was WAY more disruptive to the thread than the initial post
you could have posted your criticism in the discussion thread and the dean probably would have just ignored me

the eighteen paragraph spergscreeds back and forth between tlsers are definitely the worst part. i thought that's what we were making fun of. who cares about the deans feelings, he seems like a tool anyway

I don't care about the dean's feelings.

What was irritating was all of the "questions" that weren't actually questions but were just people hectoring the OP about not admitting that his school is garbage.

Which is fine I guess if the goal isn't to gain actual insight and instead just ride our high horses.

Birdnals was at least entertaining.

so getting the dean to admit that bl isn't as likely as his previous posts implied is equivalent in your mind to getting the dean to admit his school is garbage

ok

Your post took offense that he merely said it was very difficult to find out of state employment, when you really thought he should have said it was next to impossible.

Pedantic as fuck.

It's weird then that your tone was so misinterpreted by multiple people and the dean left!!

It's literally his job to promote KU. I get what you're saying wrt playing to optimism bias, but the demand that he say "nope. never gonna happen" instead of "well, it's hard, but we do have grads who do it" is unreasonable.
