Using LSAC Application

All,
I'm currently in the process of applying to law schools, and I'm applying to 13 (all 14 except Berkeley because no fee waiver or scholarship offers).
How does the LSAC application process work? I finished my first application (Duke) but didn't submit it. I then went through the Georgetown application, and many of the same details were already filled in (bio, demographics, awards). This is great, because it will save me a ton of time.
This prompts some questions:
1) How does this mechanism work? If I make a change on one application, will it make a change on all of them? For example, fixing a typo?
2) Does it make sense to do one application, perfect it, make sure there are absolutely NO typos before doing any of the other ones?
3) Once I submit and pay my application, and LSAC sends the report, how do I get my "status checker" and all that?
Thanks for the help!
