Just wondering if this field of employment is looked upon favorably. I heard most work doesn't give you much of a boost.

I can't speak to admissions, but I did an alumni interview for a T15 and he spoke at length about how hard it is to find people who can write well and that in his opinion former journalists have a small advantage in 1L year. I really doubt it gives an admissions boost above any other WE though, unless you won a Livingston or something.

You won't outperform your numbers because of it.

won't help you in admissions but i'll concur that it might give a leg up for lrw. Legal writing is quite similar to writing hard news, in my limited 1l experience. but that won't matter if you go to a t10 as pass/fail
