Bulk emails from schools..

I received a standard email from a school that's LSAT and gpa medians are above my scores.. I mostly figured that my chances there are slim to none. Why would they send an email saying to apply (the first time they've sent me one) when they've got access to my stats and can see they're obviously lower than theirs.. They also noted the app fee is waived so it's not like they're trying to get the $65 from me.. Would this generally mean I have a closer chance than initially expected? Just trying to decide the email..

So your saying they're accepting students with lower scores? Why are they doing that? Like what's the point?

No, he's saying that for them, getting you to apply and then rejecting you is beneficial. It makes them look more selective, and helps them in the rankings.

No, Brut's saying they're trying to solicit apps from people who will get denied in order to increase their selectivity.

Ah the beauty of the USNWR rankings game. Gotta love it.
