Asians at Georgetown = only 2%?

According to their ABA 509, the asian population at Gtown is 1.8% of the total population. Black population is 6.9%. I've never seen such a low number for asians at a top school.

I presume that means being asian is an advantage for admissions, which I find hard to believe. Can anyone shed light on this?

some asians see their race as a disadvantage in the admissions process and are likely to not specify a race

so my best guess is that it's a self-reporting thing

People who have the numbers to get accepted into GULC also get accepted into other T14 + Vandy with more $$$.
Asians are smart and don't chose GULC.

It's because 37% of the entire class chose not to report their race. That's very high.

Well said, I literally cracked up at this humor.

by reasonable person
I met an Asian guy at a reception this summer who was accepted as a transfer to Duke, Georgetown, and Emory. All sticker.
He chose Emory because he is from Atlanta and wanted Atlanta biglaw. Duke was his last choice because it wasn't located in a bustling legal market.
Needless to say he wasn't very smart. I later introduced him to LST. He is mad now.

emory takes what can only be described as an unconscionable number of transfers, given their employment outcomes
last year's transfer class was roughly a third of the size of the incoming 1L class

Makes sense. I wonder if reporting asian would help here though so their reporting looks more well rounded?

Hypothetically, if every black candidate did not report race, Gtown would have to report 0% black. If one black candidate reported race, I wonder if they would be more likely to admit that candidate for the sake of reporting.
