Just realized a mistake two hours after transmitting app...

I sent in my app at 1am, went to sleep blissfully, woke up with a jolt two hours later with the realization that I had neglected to fix something in my addendum.
I'm a reapplicant, and I had forgotten to change tenses (will be graduating -> graduated) from my previous addendum.

I feel like sending a revised one will only highlight the mistake I made in the original app, so I should just stay quiet... Do you agree?

I feel like such an idiot

Contact the admissions office by phone or email about the correction.

How poorly does it reflect to make a small mistake? I just realized I made a small mistake (but not as small as this), and I am freaking out. :(

They have no reason to care. See my first post.

An error in your admissions is far, far from a reason to "freak out." After all, you'll have plenty of time for that over the next three years of law school exams.

Thanks - I am starting to calm down a little. Is it acceptable to send a correction tomorrow or should I send one now?

LOL what's the difference? Are law school admissions offices open right now?

Nerves of steel, this one.

Yeah... :P

Okay done freaking out. Will deal with tomorrow. A simple email to the admissions office will suffice right?

Yes. They'll tell you what additional steps, if any, need be taken.

When would it be overkill to email the admissions office about an error? I realized a spelling error much later after I submitted my T-14 apps. I've still been accepted to UVA, duke, Berkeley, and Georgetown with the misspelling, but I'm wondering how it will look to the T-6 where I start falling to around and below the 25th percentile. Most of my files are already under-review so I assume it's too late to try to change it over a spelling error, but I wanted to ask to hear others opinion.

I keep obsessing over the mistake.

i had a typo in my personal statement
decided not to correct it since it was minor and i thought it may not be noticed
if i were to correct it and both copies stayed in my file (as is the policy at some schools), it would be clear i messed something up

however, if the typo is an informational error (such as misrepresenting dates of employment), do correct it
also, you should get those corrections out asap

Thank you both. Your advice is similar to my thinking, and I appreciate you taking the time to respond. It's always a bummer to realize a flaw in something you worked on for so long.

i'd say yes
a good test might be whether the typo would be relevant to their decision-making
the point in your academic career where you received academic distinctions falls under that umbrella, imo

Not a big deal. Just contact them and ask to fix it.

very weird--though certainly acceptable--word choice in thread title.

STDs are transmitted.
law schools apps are submitted.
