In practice, law schools don't average scores, since only your highest score is reported to USNWR for ranking purposes (many years ago, the average score was reported).

Up to you whether you want to ED NU for the 150k, but EDing NYU would be a stupid idea. You'd end up paying sticker or close to it in NYC. NYU's big firm placement isn't worth that much more than NU's.

If it were me? I'd totally ED NU.

ETA: ED NU or apply RD > ED anywhere else.

Hey buddy! I have very similar stats. 3.35 with a 173 from September, but I took the test one other time. I've been considering the same, and the reason I am not is that I think this is a fair shot of substantial scholarships from Michigan and some other places that I'd prefer to attend. Part of this is because I'm in Chicago now, and I'd just prefer to see other places.

You have a really good chance at NYU RD, and $$ at Michigan

Yea, I decided not to ED to NYU which seems like the consensus. I applied via regular admission today. I'm also going to apply to some other schools in the 6-12 range like Penn/Michigan/Duke. The idea of graduating law school with no debt is great and possible if I get in ED to NU. Other schools in the lower end of the T14 are probably only marginally better and might not give me as large of a scholarship. Plus, i've heard NU has good placement for its grads. Worst case scenario - i don't get it and will work through the regular admission process which was going to happen anyway. Thanks for the responses!
