TLS wisdom needed regarding "W's"

So the drop deadline at my school is rapidly approaching, and I need to make a decision whether to continue on in one of my courses or drop it. When I registered for the course, the professor was "TBA." We just received the results of our first test: I scored a 61/100. I have never really received a grade like that in college, my lowest grade in this field of study (finance) is a B+. The median for the class was a 52 (he made sure to condescendingly point this out in his email). After I saw my grade I looked him up on Rate My Professor and his ratings are horrendous, solid 1 star ratings from 2006 through last semester. Most people are complaining of a "mysterious grading curve" and just poor grades in general. All signs are telling me to drop this course, but I am worried about how "W's" are perceived in admissions offices. I am graduating in the near future and have to keep my grades stellar, so far (with the exception of this course) I have an A in all of the rest of my courses. A cost benefit analysis leads me to believe that a C- is worse than a W. As of this moment I have 1 W on my record. To drop or not to drop?
Thank you

If it's a punitive W, don't drop. If it isn't, drop.

Good point..."This addendum is in reference to my grade in FIN 4900, evidence of my claims can be found on Rate My Professor."

You'd have to be crazy to stay in that class.

W's don't matter unless its multiple whole semesters or multiples in each semester. Even then it's debatable

Just drop it, it's no big deal if it's non-punitive. A C- would be much worse.
I think it could only raise red flags if it's a common thing on your transcript.
Anecdote: I had multiple non-punitive W's (1 in several different semesters) and still performed well given my #'s

I ended up dropping the class. Oh well, 1 hour 15 minutes more on M/W to study for the LSAT. Thanks for the reply
