Not exactly, they are closing the Ann Arbor campus, not the school. There are still 3 other locations.

they are paying them 3k and saying "we'll give you priority registration" at other campus

"Ann Arbor students will get a $1,500 cash stipend to cover the costs of attending classes at the other campuses"

From the article...

It's place in the top 5 is clearly in jeopardy.

OMG! Those poor kids who did not stop to think that a law school that releases its own ranking is inherently suspect will be disappointed with the schools tragic rank drop in its own rankings.

In all seriousness I have only had 1 interaction with a student from Cooley and he lived up to the schools reputation.

Yeah, it's more that they prey on applicants who often should not be going to law school and force them to pay just as much as a top school. A lot of the students at Cooley are not going to be successful attorneys not only because of the school and its poor reputation, but also because of their own intelligence, work ethic and backgrounds. Cooley knows this and tries to get those people through the door.

I couldn't get past the second question. My heart sank at "150k." I think it made me a little ill actually.
