URM potential splitter, DEC LSAT too late for current cycle?

Post by calmike » Tue Sep 23, 2014 3:57 pm

Hello, I have been PTing 165-169 over the last few weeks. I planned to take the September LSAT but I really want to score in the 170's. However, I have a 2.87 GPA. Is a december lsat too late for this cycle considering I might be a splitter and should I wait to apply until next cycle if I get that 170? Should I take September LSAT and Dec LSAT?

Thanks!

No, it's not too late.

Taking both will neither harm you nor help you since you're out of the running for HYS anyways with a 2.87. There are arguments that could be made for withdrawing your September registration and arguments that could be made for writing September and locking in a LSAT score just in case something goes wrong in December. It's up to you.
