How do you get a school to stop blackballing you?
(Mods, I promise I'll be serious, mature, and well-behaved here. Just give me a shot!)
I've applied to Notre Dame Law School over the past two years and I was waitlisted and accepted two cycles ago and was waitlisted and rejected with a late application this past cycle. It wasn't until recently that I found out that I've been getting blackballed by them. My numbers are competitive enough for their medians and I know on mylsn that applicants who have identical profiles as mine have usually gotten 1/3 or 1/4 scholarships in the past whereas I struggle to even get in.
I'm planning to raise my top LSAT score in a few weeks and, if I can raise it enough, I'd like to at least have the option of going to such a school for pennies. However, I'm fearful that they think they know me and they're going to blackball me once again so I'll be hesitant to reapply. Is there any way to show them, in a respectful manner, that they've got the wrong labels attached to my name and need to assess my application fairly?

Do you have any C&F issues?
Did you outright bash catholicism in your PS?

I think they could be. I'm not sure. Someone on TLS suggested it to me. I feel like they've been bullying me.

I have something that I have to disclose, but it's not an issue unless they're trying to find a reason to keep me out.Attax wrote:Do you have any C&F issues?

Nope. I had a Roman Catholic upbringing.
Late Jan/Early Feb this cycle.
I don't even like ND that much, I just want them to be fair to me.

You have a C&F issue, you were accepted off the waitlist the first time around but then didn't attend, you had a downward GPA trend (and LSAT, IIRC), you applied late, and based on your posting here, your PS and LORs probably aren't anything to write home about, either. There's no need to blackball you.

Serious question. If I apply this cycle and do something bold in one of my essays/attachments and call them out for blackballing me, but I show them that they've got the wrong picture, what do you think would happen? Will they rage reject my application or will I touch their hearts? Will they think I'm crazy?

1. Well maybe they have stricter C&F stuffDaRascal wrote:I have something that I have to disclose, but it's not an issue unless they're trying to find a reason to keep me out.Attax wrote:Do you have any C&F issues?

2. Okay so that point is moot
3. That's too late. Retake.
If you don't like it, don't apply.

I think they'll go to their adcomm facebook group and tell other people about what you did. If you think they don't discuss, you're probably wrong and shouldn't be stupid.DaRascal wrote:dowu wrote: write them a LOCI?

Oh my God, what a bunch of snitches!! Who does that? But seriously, I probably just won't apply because I want to be on good terms with schools I apply to.Attax wrote: I think they'll go to their adcomm facebook group and tell other people about what you did. I wish there was a way to find out before you apply which schools have blacklisted you.

You sound like a 19 year old sorority girl who just found out her sister slept with the senior who was hitting on you at the party.DaRascal wrote:Oh my God, what a bunch of snitches!! Who does that? Still teaching the SAT. It's not all that bad. I lost my last paycheck playing in this mega online poker event, but that's really the only bad thing that's happened to me in the past few months. I'm growing up!
