Top Law Schools

I have been DJing for almost 8 years and DJed anywhere from 2-6 nights/week up until June of 2014, when I decided to call it quits and focus on law school admissions. I am not sure if this worth including on the resume. On the one hand it shows work ethic, on the other DJing has a negative connotation to some people. Any ideas?

solid hobby/interest, clearly beats "running" or "hiking" and shit like that

For admissions? Yes. For a job? Maybe.

I would definitely not do this. DJing in clubs until 4am is the exact opposite of what 95% of law firms are looking for.

Absolutely. Interesting and memorable. My firm has a partner who is also a DJ. It was front page on the firm website that he played a set at some festival with thousands of people in attendance. My firm is very conservative. I think the legal field is cooler than you think. And if it's not, make it cool with your presence.

I put "music production," and they always asked so I explained that I meant DJing. Worked well both for apps and OCI.

It's a past job. Lots of people have past jobs that aren't anything like what you do as a lawyer. Every other person at my school had been a ski bum, it didn't make any difference to the jobs they got.

Yeah. I actually think it's pretty cool.
Definitely include it since it's been such a big part of your life.
Not a game changer, but interesting enough to maybe get a shoutout on their class profile page.

It's worth including both on your law school and job resume. DJing could be a great conversation-starter at OCI interviews.
