Apply as Canadian or Egyptian?

Hi all,

I am both an Egyptian and a Canadian, so should I apply to law schools as an Egyptian or Canadian?

News around town is that law schools are trying to balance their demographics, so a professor recommended me apply as an Egyptian so I get a better chance of getting in. What do you guys think?

I am originally Egyptian, but was raised in Canada all my life, since I was 3 years old. Yale, Harvard and some of the top 10 law schools are the ones that I am planning to apply for.

Thanks

You can go ahead and put Egyptian first, but if you went to university in Canada, and have a LSAC GPA on the 4.0 scale you'll still be treated more or less like any north american applicant for admissions purposes.

Use your nationality in a diversity statement or personal statement - it's the only way your application will be affected by it, I think. As demographics go, URM is what they care about.
Thank you
